NANUQ™ Access Facility
Utilize Advanced Cryocooling to Improve Result
Introductory trial experiments to give researchers access to the impact of advanced cooling techniques. Try preparing your samples with NANUQ™ cryocooling technology to: • Prevent damaging ice formation • Improve sample diffraction quality • Reduce or eliminate cryoprotection • Guarantee reproducible crystal-to-crystal cooling - Visit the facility and cool them yourself*, or - Ship us samples for us to cool, or - Have us set up trays and perform the cryocooling *In person visits are contingent on COVID-19 protocols.
HOW TO GET STARTED
REQUEST MEETING TO DISCUSS YOUR NEEDS AND TRIAL OPTIONS
"Cryocooling with the NANUQ proved to be superior to traditional hand plunging methods. NANUQ samples were prepared more consistently and were visibly free of ice, allowing the collection of higher quality data. High resolution data sets were also collected from crystals without cryoprotectant, decreasing preparation time."

WHAT NANUQ™ DOES:
NANUQ™ combines ultra-fast plunge rates (2 m/s) with patented gas-layer removal technology to obtain cooling rates 50-100x faster than hand plunging into LN2. The increased cooling rates provided by NANUQ™ prevent the formation of crystalline ice, which damages protein crystals, reduces resolution, and increases mosaicity. In addition, fast cooling lowers the amount of cryoprotectant needed for successful vitrification. Through rapid and reproducible plunges, NANUQ™ improves the outcomes of your data collection and provides consistent results.

WHY ACCESS NANUQ™ AT MITEGEN:
Quickly solving structures starts with obtaining the best possible diffraction data from your crystals. The damaging impact that slow cryocooling rates, the use of high cryoprotectant concentrations, or variability of plunging by hand, has on diffraction quality is often overlooked by researchers.
To enable users access to improved data from using the world's leading cryocooling technology, we opened the NANUQ™ Access Facility. Located in Ithaca, NY we welcome users on site*, or will work with users to determine what the best option for their sample preparation and cryocooling is. *Onsite access is contingent on COVID-19 protocols.
Whether you bring your samples and cool them yourself, ship us crystals, have us set up trays and do the cryocooling, or some other configuration, the access to expert advice and techniques gets you the best possible cryocooling and diffraction for your project.
