• Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO)

There are 2 positions open, for postdoc and senior research scientist, to join Roger Castells-Graells’ lab at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). These positions involve leading innovative projects in biochemistry, protein design, structural biology, and virology, as part of the newly established Biomolecular Design and Structural Nanomedicine lab. Our research integrates protein design, synthetic biology, and AI-driven approaches to engineer protein cages, nanomachines, and biomolecules with precise functions. By combining these innovations with in-depth studies of viral structures, we are pioneering new ways to manipulate biological systems.

The ultimate goal is to translate these scientific advances into nanomedicine, developing state-of-the-art cryo-EM imaging tools and therapeutic platforms to tackle major challenges in cancer and human health. These are fully funded positions.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: biochemistry, protein design, virology, structural biology, or cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). Additional training and development opportunities will be provided.

  City of Hope Medical Center has a Postdoctoral Fellowship position in protein crystallography and drug discovery as a joint position in the labs of Dr. Jianjun Chen, Chair of Department of Systems Biology and Deputy Director of Center for RNA Biology and Therapeutics, and Dr. Jeff Perry, Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Diagnostics and Experimental Therapeutics, at City of Hope Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. The research is focused on fragment, and small molecule-based drug discovery approaches against RNA/DNA epigenetic targets, RNA methylation and post-transcriptional regulation, and includes determining structures of fragment, RNA probe, and small molecule:protein target co-complexes and using biophysical approaches, including thermal shift assays, isothermal calorimetry and/or surface plasmon resonance. • The Emory University - The Bou-Nader Lab
  A postdoctoral position is available in the Bou-Nader’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry at Emory University to study how R-loops control genome integrity in human health and diseases. Their laboratory is developing new methodologies to understand mechanistically how R-loops regulate gene expression or trigger DNA-damage by combining biochemistry, cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, atomic force microscopy, and molecular biology to uncover the principles of R-loop formation and interaction with proteins which drive both positive and toxic effects in cells.
