Order MicroMeshes™

Each box contains 20 MicroMeshes attached to stainless steel rods (also called "pins").

Choose from eight different designs.

The first three have 400 μm diameter heads and mesh openings of 50 μm, 25 μm and 10 μm, respectively. The fourth has a 700 μm diameter head with 25 μm mesh openings. These are available in single-size boxes or as an assortment.

The fifth has an 80 μm diameter head with 15 μm mesh openings, so as to entirely fit within a standard 80-100 μm X-ray beam.

The last three are indexed to allow a crystal's position on the mesh to be easily specified. Two have 400 μm diameter heads and 25 μm mesh openings, and one has a 300 μm square head with 25 μm mesh openings.

MicroMeshes™ are precision attached to beveled, solid, nonmagnetic stainless steel rods with standard lengths of 11 mm, 18 mm / SPINE, 19 mm and 25 mm. If necessary they can be cut to a desired length using spring steel compatible cutters . Rods can be easily bent using needlenose pliers to place the crystal in a desired orientation.

We recommend ordering our 18 mm / SPINE length rods, which are now standard at nearly all synchrotron beam lines in the world; most also accept the 19 mm length, but all other lengths are rapidly becoming obsolete. If you like copper-post style caps/goniometer bases and have been using 10 or 11 mm rods with them, consider our B3S copper post base, which accepts SPINE length rods, or our B3 or B3A copper post bases, which accept full 19 mm length rods. Excess liquid can be removed using size 15 liquid wicks.

MicroMeshes can be cleaned ultrasonically or using Medium or Fine liquid wicks.

We recommend using our heavy-duty tweezers for handling MicroMeshes.

The order code is M3-Lxx-yy where "xx" is the rod length (either 11, SP, 19 or 25 mm) and "yy" is the mesh size code.
